My field trip to Fort McHenry in Baltimore Maryland

I took this video of Old Glory

1. At the beginning of the Revolutionary War quick forts were constructed like Fort Whetstone (now where Fort McHenry stands) were constructed along the coast line to protect the colonies.
 
 
2. In 1794 the United States of America authorized the building of stronger, permanent forts (like Fort McHenry)along the coast for protection
 
3. In 1798 construction on Fort McHenry began they finished in 1803
 
 
4. On June 18th 1812 the U.S declared war on Britain to preserve free trade and sailors rights
 
5. August 1814 Britain attacked  Washington, defeated U.S forces and burned the capital
 
6. On September 13th through the 14th of 1814  Britain attacked Fort McHenry. During the Victory of winning the battle Francis Scott Key (the author of the star spangled banner) Wrote down a few lines  http://famousliteraryworks.com/key_star_spnagled_banner.htm(look here to see)
